Neeki Ashari, B.S. Research collaborator Neeki Ashari graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego ‘17. She has worked with Dr. Alan R. Hargens and the UCSD Orthopedic Physiology Laboratory since 2016. Her biomechanical research focuses on the physiological effects of microgravity during prolonged spaceflight. Currently, she is developing a Lower Body Negative Pressure suit to combat cephalic fluid shifts for astronauts. Aside from her research, she co-founded an engineering space team called, Original Gravity. The team's fermentation experiment is set for launch to the Moon in 2017.
